Hi there! After completing a degree in geology at Queen’s University, I contemplated employment in the mining and exploration field but decided that a job which was in line with my passion for paddling was more exciting to me.  My enthusiasm for paddling keeps me keen on learning and developing my skills in all realms.

I have been canoeing since I could hold a paddle. I take every opportunity I can get to be outside. Recently, my focus has been on creeking, climbing, biking and SUP whitewater paddling.

Guiding for Black Feather since 2005 has allowed me to spend my summers employed in the paddle-sport industry and has been a great way to explore Canada. With the encouragement of many talented guides as mentors, I started out guiding local canoe trips before working my way up to the more adventurous trips that Black Feather offers, including the Nahanni, Hood, Mountain, and Bonnet Plume Rivers. I guided full summers with Black Feather up to 2012 and have guided one or two trips a year since.

While studying geology at Queen’s U, I had the unique opportunity to go to Antarctica to study glaciology. When presented with a chance to return there in 2013 I jumped on it and joined One Ocean Expeditions as a sea kayak guide. One Ocean offers extended ship based tours around the Antarctic Peninsula, South Georgia and The Falkland islands. Spending 2 months working on these trips in early 2013 allowed me to gain some incredible experiences,  have intense encounters with wildlife and develop a deep respect for the ocean.

As a sales representative with Watershed Sales, I can combine many of my interests. We’ve offered instructional courses to our dealers  so they can have confidence selling or offering courses themselves. We’re often involved in development and testing new products. At dealer events and consumer shows, I get the chance to mingle, instruct  or simply paddle with paddling enthusiasts. I have the chance to travel and visit stores, staff, paddlers and world class  paddling destinations across Eastern Canada. I look forward to sharing the joy of paddling and the outdoors with our dealers, staff and their customers.
